How do you stay focused on living healthy yet balance the temptations and struggles of everyday life? Northlake Weight Management Center offers you continuing education classes taught primarily by Dr. Loughridge. We make sure there is time to share ideas and tips that have worked for others.
Life isn't easy, but nothing worth having ever is. We'll help you celebrate your victories, cheer your successes, and re-enforce your goals every step of the way. Our Healthy for Life class meets the second Tuesday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
We at Northlake understand the struggles and challenges of keeping your weight under control. You have worked so hard to get to this point, and you don’t have to continue on your own. Here are just some of the benefits of participating in the maintenance group:

Reached goal weight in July 2004
I have a friend whose license plate reads ‘Be Mindful.’ I have found it so very important to be aware of what I am consuming and having support for my struggle to keep off the pounds that I worked so hard to release. I really don’t know how I would manage without the continuing help of the Maintenance Program. It helps me to ‘Be Mindful’ every day no matter what I face.
I feel fortunate that I found a program that helped me find a healthier way of life. Life can be difficult, so can avoiding the pitfalls that we all know are there. For me the maintenance gang keeps me authentic and doesn’t put up with my excuses. They give me encouragement to do what I know I should, as well as reinforce how to reach my goals. I know that they care about me. I wish I could bottle that support and sell it – I would make a fortune. There truly is no reason to go it alone. Don’t miss out on what is already available to you!

Losing 140 pounds was great, but I am most proud of keeping it off which has called for a lifetime commitment to healthier living. Going through the Optifast program gave me the tools to do that, but nothing beats the long-term benefit of being part of the Maintenance Group.
That's where I get the support I need to stay on track. These people understand what I've been through because they've also been there. Whether it's helping me celebrate the small victories, sharing tips for getting over the rough spots or – on occasion – kicking my mental backside when I get lazy or lose my focus, these friends are key to my staying thinner.
So far, it's been over a year and I'm confident that (with a little help from my friends) there will be many more successful years to come.

But, there is tomorrow. Will you be able to cope with all the temptations? With whom can you talk through the issues? Who with real experiences can help with practical ideas? That’s why you really need to come to our weekly maintenance group meetings. You will meet people just like you with the same issues and temptations...people who need your advice and can offer theirs. The more people at the meeting, the more ideas to share.

Being a part of the maintenance group has enabled me to continue in managing my weight. I hear from others in the group how to handle different situations that I encounter and to confront the reasons why I eat. I feel like I am a winner as long as I do not gain back the weight that I lost. I also have learned how important exercise is to maintaining my weight. I love the encouragement and support that I receive in the maintenance group!
